Farm & Ranch

Privacy, space, and room to grow

Welcome to North Texas

Farms, Ranches and Ranchettes of Argyle Area

On the northern side of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, focused on a 15 mile radius of Argyle, lies a series of small towns and communities that are surrounded with the modern luxuries of the city but have homes situated on spacious lots allowing for maximum privacy and room to grow. These rural feeling communities provide at least four acres, and many are agricultural-exempt properties, allowing livestock owners steep tax reductions.

An example of just one of these small towns is Argyle, TX. Settlement of the area first occurred in the 1850s, with a church, school, and post office opening later on in the 1870s. Growth was slow at first, then very sudden in the 1970s when residents of Dallas-Fort Worth discovered the picturesque charm of this close-knit community. Today, despite this growth, Argyle has managed to maintain this peaceful aura while growing into one of North Texas’s most desirable places to call home.

What to Love

  • Most homes are situated on oversized plots of land allowing for maximum privacy, space, and room to grow
  • Homes qualifying for agricultural exemptions are eligible for massive property tax reductions
  • Tree, trees, and more trees
  • Small-town atmosphere and charm
  • Inside of the northern point of where the two I35 Freeways meet providing a 30 min commute to downtown Dallas or Fort Worth
  • Only 20 miles from Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport, one of the largest airports in the world

Local Lifestyle

Argyle area residents enjoy a slower pace of life, without feeling like they’ve stepped back too far in time. The local school district is highly-rated, providing families with peace of mind and confidence in their children’s futures. If a day out of town is necessary, Argyle is a short drive into Dallas-Fort Worth, a sprawling metropolis known for well-paying jobs, several professional-level athletic teams, and diverse cultural enclaves. Together, these many aspects have truly given Argyle area locals the best of both worlds. City amenities are a mere 5 minute drive in any direction.

In recent years, Dallas-Fort Worth has emerged as a national leader in the culinary and entertainment fields. The metroplex is a short drive from Argyle and home to hundreds of locally-owned coffee shops, boutiques, restaurants, and more, in addition to several nationally recognized brand names. Several professional sports teams call DFW home, such as the Dallas Cowboys, Texas Rangers, and Dallas Stars, among others.

Dining, Entertainment, and Shopping

The diversity of the DFW metroplex hasn’t escaped Argyle. Though it is its own separate small town, Argyle residents enjoy a diverse array of downhome cuisine, locally-owned shops, and endless ways to spend time off the ranch.

St. Argyle’s Cajun Kitchen and Pirogue Sales has brought Louisiana cookin’ to its neighboring state, much to the delight of Argyle locals. Their live music performances are frequently looked forward to, in addition to their authentic menu. Some of their top sellers include cajun pasta, crawfish etouffee, crawfish queso, and the cherry on top of any Creole meal: beignets!

World class BBQ can be found at 407 BBQ, or enjoy outdoor dining and entertainment at Marty B’s.

On the southern edge of town, DFW Adventure Park is a vast open space for zipline rides, paintball, laser tag, ATV rides, and more. The perfect place to spend a weekend getting some fresh air also hosts events throughout the year, like the DFW Zombie Hunt. Every October, participants get the chance to “protect” their hometown on this five-acre guided “hunt” (without worrying about taking any of the hits themselves).

As if all that were not enough, the Argyle area has become home to state of the art medical facilities, hospitals, rehab centers, as well as world class physicians.

As a whole, Dallas-Fort Worth holds a restaurant/boutique per resident rate very similar to New York City. The metroplex is a very short drive away and home to thousands of locally-owned shops and restaurants, in addition to several nationally recognized brand names.

Things To Do

One of North Texas’ most scenic and beautiful communities is also home to several hard-working farmers and ranchers. The Denton Community Market is a large offering of the best goods available in the county. One of DFW’s favorite farmers’ markets features live music, fresh produce, homemade jams and jellies, beef jerky, candles, baked goods and so much more. Expect to see several inner-city residents make the drive; the market has drawn high praise from The Dallas Morning News and D Magazine over the years.

Argyle maintains its close-knit community by holding regular events for residents of all ages. Some of these gatherings include the annual holiday tree-lighting, concerts, and community markets. More modern activities include golfing or spa days. The nearby Denton Country Club is an award-winning member-owned club featuring golf, tennis, aquatics, and five-star dining. More relaxing days can be enjoyed at Argyle Med Spa & Wellness Center, specializing in massages, facials, laser services, and more.

Schools

Argyle is home to some of DFW’s best-ranked schools. These include:

  • Liberty Christian School, preschool-12th grade; Liberty ranks within Texas’ top 20% of private schools and is conveniently located in central Argyle
